What an RV detail has to cover

An RV is a vehicle and a building at the same time. That is why it is priced by the foot, why the roof matters more than the sides, and why black streaks keep coming back.

The short version

Why these are priced differently

A car can be sorted into a body style and quoted from it, because the variation within a body style is small. Nothing else we detail works that way. An eighteen-foot pontoon and a forty-foot cruiser are both a boat, and they are not the same job by any measure — surface area, access, materials or hours.

So these are measured rather than categorized, and the material matters as much as the size. Gelcoat oxidizes and needs cutting back; automotive clear coat does not behave that way. A motorhome roof is a membrane that a walk can damage. A motorcycle carries bearings and connectors in the open where a pressure washer reaches them. Every one of those is a reason a method that works on a car is the wrong method here.

These pieces cover what each kind of vehicle actually needs, what the common damage is, and how much of it is done by the cleaning rather than by the use.
