What this is for

The part of the car you sit in

An interior detail is for the vehicle whose paint is fine and whose cabin is not. Most people book it for a specific reason — a dog, a spilled drink, a child who has discovered crackers, or simply the slow accumulation of a commute — rather than because the car looks bad from outside.

What it is not is a vacuum and an air freshener. It is a full pass over every surface by hand, in a fixed order, with the things that have worked their way into materials treated differently from the things sitting on top of them.

You spend more hours inside this vehicle than looking at it.

What is included

Every step, every time

Seats, carpets, trim and glass are cleaned by hand, then finished with a matte, non-greasy dressing. Built for daily drivers that carry kids, pets, coffee and commutes.

Inside the vehicle

5 steps
  1. Full vacuum including under seats and in the trunk
  2. Seats, carpets and mats shampooed or extracted
  3. Dash, console, door cards and vents detailed
  4. Interior glass cleaned streak-free
  5. Matte, non-greasy UV dressing on trim

Worth knowing

The things a detailer would tell you in person.

  • Floor mats are removed, cleaned and dried separately.
  • Cup holders, seat rails, seat belts and door jambs are cleaned by hand.
  • Leather is cleaned with a pH-balanced cleaner. Conditioning is available as an add-on.
  • We work around child seats rather than removing them unless you ask.

What this does not cover

Said here rather than discovered on the day.

  • Exterior washing of any kind — book the Complete Detail for both
  • Stain removal needing re-dyeing or re-trimming
  • Mould or biological contamination, which is assessed before it is priced

Surface by surface

What each part of a cabin takes

The checklist above says what happens. This says why, and where a vehicle usually needs the most work.

Seats
Fabric is cleaned to its weave and its fiber; leather and vinyl are cleaned and then conditioned, because the finish on leather is a coating and it wears through at the bolsters first. The seam between the bolster and the base is where a spill ends up, so it is done separately.
Carpets and floor mats
Mats come out and are cleaned away from the vehicle, then go back dry. Carpet is vacuumed with the seats moved through their travel, because the two inches under a seat rail hold more than the rest of the footwell.Soil that has reached the carpet backing needs extraction, which is add-on work.
Dashboard, console and door panels
Cleaned with a brush and a towel rather than sprayed and wiped. A spray-and-wipe pushes dust into the grain and leaves a shine on plastics that were matte from the factory, which is why so many cleaned interiors look plastic afterward.
Vents, seams and switchgear
Done individually with a brush. These are the details that make an interior look done rather than cleaned, and they are the first things skipped when a job is rushed.
Cupholders, door pockets and the center bin
Emptied and cleaned out, not vacuumed around. A cupholder with a dried ring in it undoes the impression the rest of the work made.
Interior glass
Including the inside of the windshield, which is where plastics off-gas into a film. It is invisible until headlights hit it, so this is a night-driving item before it is a cleanliness one.
High-touch surfaces, last
Wheel, shifter, handles, belt buckles, the edge of the door where a hand pulls it closed. Left to the end so nothing already cleaned is handled again.

Condition

Maintenance, or a reset?

The same checklist runs on all four. What changes is how long each step takes and whether extraction is needed — which is the honest reason two identical vehicles get different quotes.

Maintained

Detailed in the last couple of months. Nothing has reached the backing of the carpet or the foam of a seat. The fastest this cabin will ever be.

Booked online

Normal use

A few months of ordinary life. Dust in the grain, film on the glass, a footwell that needs proper attention. The standard interior detail covers this.

Booked online

Heavy

Pet hair through the fabric, a spill that soaked in, or a year of a family. Extraction and hair removal are real additional time, and both are quoted as add-ons rather than absorbed silently.

Add-ons apply

Recovery

Mold, flood exposure, smoke, or a cabin that has been left with something organic in it. Not an online booking — it is looked at first and quoted in writing.

Quoted first

Before we arrive

Five minutes that buys an hour

None of this is a requirement. All of it means more of the appointment is spent cleaning the vehicle rather than moving things around inside it.

Worth doing

  • Take out anything you would not want handled — documents, medication, electronics
  • Remove anything valuable, including whatever lives in the glovebox
  • Take child seats out if you want the seat underneath cleaned; we will not remove or refit one
  • Clear the trunk if you want it done, or it gets vacuumed around
  • Take out aftermarket seat covers and organizers

Worth telling us

  • Pet hair, and roughly how much
  • A spill, what it was, and how long ago
  • Any smell you can notice getting in cold with the doors shut
  • Smoke, past or present
  • Anything already damaged — a split bolster, a cracked dash, a torn headliner

On the day

How an interior visit runs

  1. We look at it with you first

Two minutes to point out the spill, the smell or the seat that is bothering you. That is what decides whether the vehicle needs the standard service or something added to it.

  2. Top down, touch points last

Headliner and pillars, then glass, then the dash and console, then seats, then carpet, then everything a hand touches. Nothing cleaned is handled again.

  3. It is dried before it is handed back

Anything extracted gets airflow rather than being closed up damp. If the weather allows we will suggest leaving a window cracked for an hour.

Questions

Asked about the interior

Will an interior detail get an old stain out?

Often, and not always. Organic soil that is still soil — food, drinks, mud, body oils — responds well to extraction. What does not come out is anything that has changed the material: dye transfer from denim into light upholstery, a bleach mark, most ink, or a patch where sun has taken the color. We will tell you which you have before starting rather than after.

Do I need the deep clean or the standard one?

Press a knuckle into the driver footwell. If the fibers spring back and the color is even, it is surface soil and the standard service handles it. If it feels packed and there is a darker footprint shape, soil has reached the backing and needs hot water extraction, which is add-on work.

Why is pet hair priced separately?

Because it is time rather than effort. Pet hair hooks into the weave and has to be dragged out mechanically with rubber tools, one direction at a time, before a vacuum can collect it. On a large vehicle that is an hour or more that no amount of experience compresses, so it appears as its own line rather than being hidden in the base price.

Can you remove a smell?

Usually, by removing what is producing it. An odor is a source — carpet under a mat, the foam of a seat, the cabin air filter, liquid that ran into a seat rail. We find it, extract it, neutralize what is left and dry the cabin. Anything sprayed before that is a cover, and it fails within a week.

Do you clean the headliner?

Lightly, as part of the top-down pass. A headliner is fabric glued to foam, and anything that wets it through can release the adhesive and leave a sag that cannot be undone. Heavy staining on a headliner is a conversation to have before booking rather than something to attempt on the day.

How long does it take?

Size and condition both matter and condition usually matters more. The booking flow reserves the time the vehicle actually needs from what you tell us about it, and the figure you see before confirming is for that block of time.
